On November 12th, the AIDS Institute (AI) of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) held its first ‘Ending the Epidemic’ (ETE) Regional Discussion in Nassau County. This discussion included a number of HIV/AIDS service providers in Nassau County, including Charles King, CEO of Housing Works and Co-Chair of the Regional Task Force Committee, and the Health Commissioner of Nassau County Health Department. The goal of this meeting was to review the 2014 blueprint to ending the AIDS epidemic and to identify the successes and challenges of HIV prevention and tertiary services. In response to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement and commitment to Ending AIDS by 2020, a Nassau County task force was created. In attendance were Ms. MelRose Corley, Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Programs and Ms. Jessica Clark, HIV Program Coordinator of Da’ Truth Sexual Health Youth Leadership Program who will be apart of the task force.
