On Friday, February 12, 2016, the Hempstead Community Action Program Wise Visionaries held their Annual Valentine’s Day Luncheon. The Program Director, Mateo Flores began the program with welcoming all seniors and partners on behalf of Iris A. Johnson, CEO. Kelli Cook, volunteer liaison for ONA CERC, blessed the food. Over 40 attendees (28 that were seniors) participated in the program. The seniors enjoyed the atmosphere of the holiday and also enjoyed a lunch sponsored by United Health Care and Hempstead CAP. Guest speaker Kathleen Foster, Coordinator of the Senior Citizen Project came to speak about the various services that are offered and the assistance there is for the seniors here in Nassau County. The Wise Visionaries have reported that they had a great time and look forward to upcoming events.
