About Us

The aim of Career Paths TANF Employment Services is to provide TANF and Safety Net recipients with the confidence, self-esteem and skills to get and keep a job that will move them along on their path towards self-sufficiency.
By participating in the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County, Inc. Career Paths Services, individuals receiving TANF and Safety Net are able to meet the work activity requirements as mandated by the Nassau County Department of Social Services. Participants will gain valuable and marketable skills that will land them a job and give them their first steps towards a career

Job Readiness Training

A 8 - 9 week session broken into morning and afternoon classes meant to:

  • Train students on how to be comfortable sitting in front of the computer

  • Basic and Advanced Training in Microsoft Office programs that are popular in the workplace

  • Increase typing speed utilizing up to date software

  • Assist in the creation of a resume and cover letter

  • Give effective tools to be exceptional in front of potential employers by utilizing workshops on:

    • Filling out job applications

    • Interview Questions

    • Dressing for an Interview

    • Job Fair Techniques

    • Being Professional in the Workplace

  • Workshops in personal development that include:

    • Budget Creation

    • Higher Education
