HIV / AIDS OUTREACH, PREVENTION & AWARENESS

HIV/AIDS Outreach Prevention and Education

The EOC has three HIV Programs that work in collaboration. The HIV Prevention and Education Program and HIV Peer Education Program provide prevention/education to the minority communities. Street and door-to-door outreach is an integral part of the program. The HIV Support Group program provides support for men who have sex with men, women of color, and individuals infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. Support group participants are encouraged to reduce isolation, abstain from drug and alcohol use and other at-risk behaviors.

The EOC HIV program has carried out the mission of the agency through provision of Individual Level, Group Level and Community Level Interventions; Lecture/Presentations were also conducted internally to EOC agency programs and externally to other community agency programs and/or organizations.

The HIV Health Communications, Public Information & Peer Development Program is committed to fighting the ever-evolving pandemic of HIV/AIDS. Our focus is to increase awareness and change the risk behaviors that lead to the transmission of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s). It is our mission to educate the members of our community so that they will be empowered to actively participate in making informed healthy choices for their lives.
